🔥Key Takeaways 🔥
Meaningful friendships aren’t impressive—they’re consistent.
Try a day with fewer inputs and more presence.
The Black Keys are on fire (again).

You Don’t Need a Mastermind—You Probably Just Need a Booth at Waffle House
I came across a post the other day.
It was a men’s coach promoting a mastermind retreat—basically a highlight reel from a previous event.
10–12 guys working out together.
Making protein shakes.
Eating at a nice restaurant.
At one point… drinking chocolate milk in sync.
It was… weird.
Not because there’s anything wrong with working out, protein shakes, nice dinners, or even chocolate milk.
But because it all felt staged.
Like a performance of what male connection is supposed to look like.
And I think that’s where a lot of guys get tripped up right now.
There’s this growing idea that if you don’t have a big group of friends, traveling together, doing “next-level” experiences… then something’s missing.
Like your life isn’t quite measuring up.
But most meaningful friendships don’t look like that.
Most of mine look like this:
Coffee.
Waffle House.
Sitting in the same booth we always sit in.
Talking about life.
Or not talking much at all.
Sometimes we watch the Cowboys get stomped.
Sometimes we play video games.
Sometimes we go to the lake.
Nothing impressive.
Nothing you’d put in a promo video.
But it’s real.
And it’s enough.
Don’t let social media convince you that you need a production crew and a destination trip to have a meaningful social life.
You probably don’t need more people.
You just need a few good ones…
and the consistency to show up.
And for the record—
There is never any chocolate milk.

Try this: Skip news, podcasts, or social media for one full day.
Your mind doesn’t need more information—it needs space to process what’s already there.

The Black Keys Never Disappoint
I’m really digging what I’m hearing from The Black Keys’ upcoming album Peaches!.
The newest single (are they still called singles?)—Where There’s Smoke, There’s Fire—is a solid cover of the Willie Griffin original.
Until next time—
🔥Keep the fires burning,
